Hobbies
I am a retired high school business education teacher seeking part-time employment as a tutor/mentor to middle and high school students of diverse backgrounds. I particularly have a passion for business related subjects, especially accounting. Throughout my teaching career, I placed strong emphasis on developing students' critical thinking, comprehension, oral and written expression skills. I was devoted to making sure my students were career and college ready and graduated from high school possessing the skills necessary to succeed both at the college level and in the work force. As an effective tutor, I would first get to know your child and his/her learning style preferences and introduce a variety of teaching strategies that fit his/her learning style. Most importantly, as an effective tutor, my primary goal would be to foster independence and confidence n my students by sharing and demonstrating study skills and strategies they can consistently utilize on their own in order to improve their overall academic performance.
